Dr. R. Raveendran

Dr. R. Raveendran, Ex-Professor of Pharmacology at JIPMER, Pondicherry, is a distinguished academician and researcher whose contributions have shaped modern pharmacology education in India. He completed his MD in Pharmacology at JIPMER and earned a Diploma in Clinical Pharmacology at St. Bartholomew's Medical College in London, UK.
Joining JIPMER as a faculty member in 1993, Dr. Raveendran's passion for medical education led him to pioneer Computer-Assisted Learning (CAL) tools. He has published over 50 research papers in prestigious national and international journals and is the author of several influential books in the field.
He has served as the Chief Editor of both the Indian Journal of Pharmacology and the Journal of Pharmacology & Pharmacotherapeutics. His journey in software development began in 1989 with ExPharm in GW-BASIC, which evolved through QuickBasic (1992) and Visual BASIC for Windows (1997) before transitioning to the web-based platforms used today.
Recommended by the Medical Council of India (NMC) and the Pharmacy Council of India, ExPharm has become a cornerstone teaching tool for medical and pharmacy students across the globe. Today, Dr. Raveendran continues to lead the evolution of pharmacology simulation through ExPharm Neo, available exclusively under MyCalPharm.
