Dr. C. R. Patil

C. R. Patil is working as a Professor of Pharmacology at R. C. Patel Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, Shirpur, Maharastra. He is a recipient of the prestigious ‘National Teacher Award-2023’ and ‘Innovator Teacher Award-2018’ conferred by the Government of India. On the research front, he has received the ‘Young Scientist Award-2016’ from the CCRH, Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India for his research work in alternative medicines. Dr. Patil has been involved in the development of teaching software packages since the year 2001, particularly on the backdrop of the pan-Indian ban on the use of experimental animals at the undergraduate level of teaching. His software – Xcology has helped the learners of the pharmacy, medical, and paramedical fraternities to learn the pharmacology experiments in virtual mode replacing the undue sacrifice of thousands of laboratory animals. This work by Dr. Patil has been appreciated with two international awards as ‘Young Scientist Award’ and ‘The Best Presentation Award’ at the 6th and 7th World Congress on Alternatives to Animal Use in Lifesciences’ in Tokyo, Japan, and Rome, Italy.
